About Filolifeline
Ethos
Filolifeline is a blog environment where I, Eline van der Velde, write about philosophy and travel. Filolifeline can therefore be divided into these two topics. Although you might think that philosophy and travel have nothing to do with each other, I believe they do. With philosophy, you are discovering the world from your own thoughts and this journey of discovery is infinite, since knowledge is infinite. With travel, you are literally discovering the world. For me, travelling is also a way to step outside the boundaries of your current place of habitation and so each trip will broaden your horizons further.
First of all, I would like to mention that philosophy is my passion. A passion I would love to share with you. Philosophy, to me, is more than just an academic discipline or a collection of abstract theories. It’s a way of life, a lens through which we can view the world and make sense of our place within it. My interests within philosophy are broad and so my blog posts will vary from the big questions in life, such as what is happiness or what is freedom? To questions that are perhaps more topical and rather related to what is going on in the world right now. I think there is a philosopher in everyone and everyone could learn something that will make them a little richer in life.
Travelling is my other passion, which I love to write about. You can travel in different ways. For instance, you can go backpacking, ecological travel, luxury travel or just budget-friendly travel. There are plenty of blogs that write about these topics. But I want to inspire you with authentic travel that creates the perfect balance between holiday and travel. By holiday I mean the relaxation you want when you leave your (often) stressful home environment. And by travelling, I mean exploring different places and cultures. Therefore, I want to write about Wander Escapes Travel. I often travel with my boyfriend and during our trip I want to feel like we can explore new places and cultures, but also find relaxation in visiting fun beach clubs or restaurants, for example. At wander escapes, wandering stands for travelling and escapes for relaxation and a little escape from the daily grind.
I hope to inspire you for creating your own journey.
